Reverend Monsignor Thomas P. Leonard
Sixth Pastor of Incarnation Parish, 1977-1989
Monsignor Leonard was pastor of Incarnation for 12 years beginning in 1977.
He had been a vice chancellor of the archdiocese and chairman of the Priest's
Personnel Board.
He was also a member of the Advisory Board of the Archdiocese of New York
and a member of the Priests' Retirement Board. A member of the faculty of
Dunwoodie for two years beginning in1969, he was administrator of St. Brigid's,
Manhattan, for two years.
Born in the Bronx, Msgr. Leonard graduated from Fordham University before
studying for the priesthood at Dunwoodie. He was ordained June 2, 1956.
During the early years as a priest he was assigned to Immaculate Conception
in Irvington- on-Hudson.Incarnation and the New York Mission Team.
During the summer of 1967
he studied at the Catholic University in Puerto Rico.

Most Reverend Monsignor Gerald Thomas Walsh
Seventh Pastor of Incarnation Parish, 1989-1995
Gerald T. Walsh was born April 25, 1942, in New York.
He attended Good Shepherd Elementary School, New York City;
St. Charles High School, Baltimore; Powers Memorial Academy,
New York City; Iona College, New Rochelle, N.Y.;
St. Joseph's Seminary, Yonkers, N.Y.; and Fordham University.
He earned a master's degree in theology at St. Joseph's and a
master's degree in social work at Fordham.
Msgr. Walsh was ordained a priest May 27, 1967, by Cardinal
Francis Spellman at St. Patrick's Cathedral.
Following ordination he was assigned as
parochial vicar, Holy Trinity Parish, New York City.
In 1980, he joined the staff of Catholic Charities;
in 1989, he was named pastor of Incarnation Parish, New York City.
Msgr. Walsh was named secretary to Cardinal John O'Connor in 1996,
and in 1998,was named pastor of St. Elizabeth's.
He was ordained Bishop on September 21, 2004.
He was named a Prelate of Honor to His Holiness in 1990.
In June 2007, he was named Rector of St. Joseph's Seminary in Dunwoodie, New York.

Reverend Monsignor Gabriel La Paz
Eighth Pastor of Incarnation Parish, 1996 to present
Reverend Monsignor Gabriel La Paz was born on March 24, 1946 in
Las Uvas, Province of La Vega in the Dominican Republic.
He is the next to the last child of fifteen children born to Don Heriberto
La Paz and Doña Eugenia Apolinario; married on the 26th day of August
1926 in the City of La Vega at the Cathedral of the Conception.
Monsignor attended grammar school, ( grades 1-5), in Las Uvas,
and the Father Fantino Pre-Seminary, ( grades 6-8),
in Santo Cerro, La Vega.
On October 11, 1962, (the opening day of the second Vatican Council),
he began his studies at the St. Pius X Seminary in Licey, Santiago.
Upon graduating, he received a baccalaureate degree in
Philosophy and Letters.
He was admitted to the Major Seminary of Santo Domingo,
the St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary, in 1968.
He received a licentiate degree in Philosophy in 1971.
In 1975, he entered the St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, New York
where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity. He was ordained
a priest of the Archdiocese of New York, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral by
Terence Cardinal Cooke, on November 4, 1978.
His first assignment was as Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph’s Church in
Middletown, New York.
In November 1979, he was transferred to St. Peter’s Parish in
Haverstraw, New York.
Monsignor La Paz was assigned to the Parish of the Incarnation in New York as Parochial Vicar in December
of 1985. During the years that followed, he lent his services as a consultant of canon law to the Metropolitan
Tribunal of the Archdiocese of New York.
In September of 1991, Monsignor was sent to the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum)
in Rome where he received a License in Canon Law.
In 1993 he was appointed Judge of Second Instance at the Metropolitan Tribunal of New York.
The following year, 1994, he was promoted to Judge of First Instance at the same Tribunal.
In January of 1996, he was named Pastor of the Church of the Incarnation.
On September 8, 2007, he was named Vicar of Northern Manhattan.
