Child of Jesus Christmas Project
a project of the Daughters of Mary
Thank you!
The Daughters of Mary would like to thank all those who helped us with our
Christmas Project for needy children.
We collected 292 boxes and shipped these to needy children in 2 schools, a
lunchroom for needy children, an orphanage, the Archdiocese of Barahona
received some boxes as did needy children in the town of Moca.
Thank you all for your generosity.
Help us with our Christmas Project. We will be sending some 120 catholic school
children in the Dominican Republic Christmas gifts. We hope to have a box for
each child.
1. SHOE BOX
Use an empty shoe box (standard size, please) or a small plastic container. You can
wrap the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required. Most importantly,
pray for the child who will receive your gift.
2. ASSIGNED CHILD: Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl
(you will be assigned a child), and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14.
Using a small white piece of paper label your box with your child’s name, age, &
grade and tape it to the top of your box.
3. FILL WITH GIFTS: Fill the box with a variety of gifts that will bring joy to a
child. Use the gift ideas provided on the back of this page. You may include a
Christmas card with well wishes from you and your family if you want to.
4. INCLUDE YOUR DONATION: Please donate $3 or more for each shoe box you
prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs.
5. DROP OFF: Place a rubber band around each closed shoe box and drop off at the
church office. We will be collecting the boxes during regular rectory hours every
saturday and sunday. The last day is Saturday, October 29. Please do not leave
your gift box in the rectory on any other day because it will be lost. No one from
our group will be there to receive it. Thank you.
